THE ASHBURTON CONTRIBUTION. TOTAL OF £l3O RECEIVED. The Ashburton fund for the purchase of aeroplanes for the Royal Air Force closed last night Avitto a total contribution of £l3O 12s 4d,
Three amounts (5s from Parents of Tavo Soldiers,” £2 2s from Mrs M. C. Digby and £2 from Mr W. R. Hammond, Winchmore, were received yesterday afternoon and as a result of a bridge drive held last evening by the Cavendish Club, the handsome sum of £35 Avas added to the list.
The money Avas fonvanled to-day to Wellington.
TOTAL OF £71,996. THE DOMINION CONTRIBUTION. WELLINGTON, September 30. The Hon. W. Nash (Minister of Finance) announced that the aeroplane fund totals £71,996, including the Marlborough Patriotic Council’s £llOO, “The Press,” Christchurch, third and foui’th instalments, £1777, and the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy. Company, Waikato, £7500.
