BASKETBALL.
ST. STEPHEN’S WIN EASILY. In basketball matches against Geraldine and North Beach, played at Ashburton on Saturday, two teams from the St. Stephen’s Club gained decisive wins. The St. Stephen’s A team beat Geraldine by 17 points to 1, while the B team won a match against North Beach by 24 points to 5. A game between North Beach and Geraldine was won hv the former. Play was handicapped by the soft state of the ground after the recent rain.
