AGAIN RECEIVING ATTENTION. 31 ENEMY LOSSES YESTERDAY. LOST IN ONE BATTLE. (United Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, September 26. Observers at Dover report to-night that the. Royal Air Force is again conducting a vigorous bombardment of German-occupied Channel ports. Large fires are burning all along the French coast. The observers believe that the German gun emplacements at Cape Gris Nez are receiving particular attention. These guns shelled.the Dover area for one hour tins afternoon. Two unoccu|pi(ed cottages were destroyed, and two casualties resulted from a shell burst.

The Air Ministry announced tonight that at least 31 enemy planes were destroyed in raids on Britain today, including at least 16 bombers. Eight of our fighters are missing, but the pilots of three are safe. The majority of the German planes were destroyed in half an hour in a battle off the Isle of W/ight. German raids on London commenced at about thb usual hour to-night. A number of bombs were dropped, .but the fierce barrage prevented many planes from reaching the Central London area. It is reported that two oldestablished shops are among the buildings damaged.
