The Air 'Ministry states: “Throughout yesterday- and last night and early to-day medium and heavy bombers of the Royal Air Force have been continually engaged in attacking the enemy’s lines of communication and supply over an area extending from St. Valery-en-Caux oji the Channel coast, through, the northern approaches to Paris, to Hirson, near the Belgian frontier. ‘ln the first raid nearly 1000 incendiary bombs and many high explosives were scattered oyer the wood at La Mare in which strong forces of enemy infantry and supplies had concentrated. Large fires were still burning fiercely when further raiders arrived to bomb the same targets some hours later. Other medium bombers made a vigorous assault on an enemy battery south of St. Valery and the guns were silenced by salvos of heavy bombs.”

Reports have been published, of the participation in .battle. of German flame-throwing tanks, but although there seems no doubt that the Germans possess such /weapons there is no information in London that they have so far been used.'
