The French official evening communique states“ There was marked activity by reconnaissance parties west of the Vosges.” The French morning communique states: “There is nothing to report.’ DUTCH STEAMER SUNK. (Received This Day, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, March 17. A Dutch vessel, the Sint Annaland (2248 tons), was sunk by a mine. The crew was rescued.
