The Wellington Racing Club was again favoured with ideal weather tor the concluding day of its autumn meeting at Trentbam to-day, and there was an exceptionally large attendance, which included visitors from all parts of New Zealand. In spite of another three-horse race and successes of two outsiders, speculation was very satisfactory, the sum of £78,302 10s (win £34,707, place £43,595 10s) being handled, as against £75,437 on the corresponding day last year. The total for the two (lavs was £132,827, as compared with £124,627 10s last year, an increase of £8199 10s. Concluding results:—• Autumn Handicap, of £750; one mile and three furlongs—l-1 —Old Bill, 9.0 (Tattersall) 1, 2-2—Yogi, 7.10 2, 8-6 — White Rajah, 7.5 3. This is the only country club in the Auckland Province to show a large increase. the Autumn Cup, had a desperate duel with Gold Spark, who is much in favour for the Sydney Cup. Reading won the Chipping Norton Plate with comparative ease. Royal Chief, although he finished fourth, was outclassed. Geebung greatly enhanced his Doncaster Handicap prospects by finishing third in the Liverpool Handicap, after coming from last at the. turn to. be narrowly defeated by Denis and Adios.
