SUPPORT FOR VATICAN
GENERAL FRANCO’S MESSAGE. ANTI-COMMUNISM AND PEACE. (Received This Day, 11.5 a.m.) VATICAN CITY, Jan. 12. General Franco sent a message to the Vatican offering Spain’s collaboration in restoring .peace and removing the danger of Communist expansion in Europe. He announced his readiness to support not only an anti-Communist crusade but also action in which the Vatican is believed to be engaged in collaboration with Italy and the United States to persuade the warring nations to accept the idea of a world conference to settle their disputes. MEATLESS DAYS IN FRANCE. THREE EACH WEEK ORDERED. (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) > PARIS, January 12. A decree has been issued that France shall have three meatless days weekly from Monday. Meat consumed in restaurants will be rationed throughout the week.
