RAID ON EAST COAST. INTERCEPTED BY FIGHTERS. NO BOMBS DROPPED. (United P/ess Association— Copyright.) (Received This Day, 1.50 p.m.) LONDON, November 21. The Air Ministry and the Ministry of Home Security announce that enemy aircraft were observed on the east coast shortly after 7 p.m. The raiders were reported'to be flying at various altitudes. Fighter aircraft were sent up to intercept them and anti-aircraft batteries engaged them. The “raiders-passed” signal was given shortly before 8.30 p.m. No bombs were dropped.
TWO GERMAN RECONNAISSANCE ONE BELIEVED SHOT DOWN. (Received This Day, 1.50 p.m.) , PARTS, November 21. British pursuit ’planes chased to sea two German reconnaisseurs which flew over part of France. It is believed one was shot down.
