CANTEEN BURNED

Troops at Ingleburn camp of the 2nd A.I.F. last night wrecked and burned one canteen and stoned another. About 200 men took part in the demonstration as a protest against prices- at the canteen. The police in the Liverpool district were, called to quell the disturbance, but before they arrived the canteen had been burnt out and the troops were dispersed by heavy rain. The canteens had been declared “black” since Saturday. The troops, it is stated, were also exasperated by the fact that they hau been. refused, “wot” canteens.
