THE WEATHER.
FINE AND WARM TO-DAY. Overcast conditions this morning gave way to beautifully fine and warm weather later in the day. Bright sunshine prevailed and there was little wind. The maximum temperature yesterday was 65.5 degrees and the minimum last night was 53.2 degrees. The barometer stood at 29.67 inches this morning. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association.) , WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: — Geaieral situation : Pressure remains high to the north of New Zealand, hut is falling slowly in the south. The. forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as ‘follows :-r~ Moderate north-easterly to northerly winds. Weather fair and mild. Seas slight.
