JUGOSLAV MINERALS.
EFFECT OF CONTROL SYSTEM. LONDON, November 15. Much concern is displayed here about the effect of the decree issued, by Jugoslavia. controlling the production of export minerals in the interests of the defence of the, realm. The largest copper mine in Europe, owned by French interests, and the Trebha lead and zinc mines, owned by the British, are affected by the decree, but authoritative circles in London state that Britain will expect that the new system will be worked in a manner not prejudicial to British commercial interests, and in strict conformity with Jugoslavia’s obligations as a neutral. Information has been conveyed to London that the new decree does not involve the confiscation of British property. The enterprises to be included within the scope of the special commissariat which is being established are reported to be under consideration in Belgrade, and other details of the working of the decree are awaited.—British Official iWirelesß.
