WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.
THE METHVEN BRANCH. The president (Mrs E. S'. Vaughan) presided over the monthly meeting of the Methven Women’s Institute. It was decided to hold a flower show in January to raise funds. Mrs A. M. Leask’s offer of her residence and grounds for the annual garden party was accepted with thanks. Miss R. Robins (A.C.E. tutor) gave an interesting lecture on colour schemes. Tho competitions were won as follows: White loaf :• Miss S. Amberger and Mrs 0. W. Amberger (equal) 1, Bloom: Miss Chambers 1, Miss Amberger 2, Mrs Graham 3. Hand-knitted handkerchief, Miss Amberger 1, Miss Chamber 2. Spring flowers, Miss E. Watson 1, Mrs Amberger 2, Miss S. Amberger 3.
