THE WEATHER.
CHANGEABLE CONDITIONS TO-DAY. Mild conditions prevailed in Ashburton for the. greater part of the morning, but the sky was overcast. There were a few early showers of (rain, half a point being recorded. The weather became cooler this afternoon. The maximum temperature yesterday was 72 degrees and the minimum last night was 51.1 degrees. The barometer stood *at 20.78 inches, this morning. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Pea* Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: — An anti-cyclone is centred to the north-west while the last of a series of westerly depressions is passing in the south. The. forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows : A temporary weak southerly change, but winds otherwise moderate northerly to north-westerly. Weather fair and mild. Seas slight.
