WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

THE DORSE BRANCH. The Doric Women’s Institute met recently. Mrs McKic presided. All members stated their willingness to help in the event of evacuation of refugees from the cities. The secretary reported on the half-yearly meeting of the council held in Ashburton recently. Miss Robins, tutor for the Association of Country Education, gave a talk on milk and cheese. The hostesses were Mesdamos Harrison and Groig. Results of competitions wore:—Article, Mrs McKic 3, Miss Sargent and Miss Houston (equal) 2, Miss Carruthors 3; ginger nuts.
