UNLAWFUL WIRING.

FINES IMPOSED AT HASTINGS'. (Per Press Association). HASTINGS, July 4. “This action is brought to warn electrical contractors that they must obey the regulations. They must not undertake any wiring or other electrical work until they have given true notice of what they propose doing,” said Mr H. B. Lusk, in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, when appearing for the electrical wiremen’s registrar, who prosecuted John Hill, Ltd., for failing to give notice of certain electric wiring to the Hawke’s Bay Electric Power Board, and L. A. Williams for connecting to the source from which electrical energy was available, . electrical apparatus exceeding 10 amperes in capacity without obtaining permission of the Power Board.

Both prosecutions arose out of the same set of circumstances. Mr Lusk said at the outset that the prosecution was not asking for heavy penalties, as 1 the cases had been brought in the nature of a warning. After hearing the evidence, the Magistrate fined John Hill, Ltd., £3 and costs, and ordered L.vA. to pay costs. -
