RUGBY UNION
CANTERBURY GAME AT METHVEN MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS A decision to play the Canterbury v. Ashburton representative match at Methven on August 5 was made by the management committee of the Ashburton Rugby Union,' which met last evening, the president (Mr N. Robitliard) presiding. An application for this game to be played there was made recently by a Alethven delegate, and it was decided to consider the matter. The Now Zealaqd Council wrote asking for particulars of the Union’s provisions in connection with accident funds. The Council stated that the Social Security Act might have some effect on the funds. It was decided xo forward the necessary information. The Commissioner of Transport advised that private cars could he used for the transport of players provided no charge was made.
