SOCIAL AFTERNOON.
HIGH SCHOOL OLD GIRLS. Many old girls of the Ashburton High School assembled in the St. Stephen’s Hall this afternoon,' when an enjoyable social function in the form of an “At Home” gathering was held. The hall was tastefully decorated for the and the management committee, with Mrs T. Phillips as convener f \ad made adequate arrangements for a successful meeting. A short address on the work of the Old Pupils’ Association was given by Mr N. Ro billiard, who made a plea for an increase in membership' and general expansion of the Association. A musical programme was presented the following being the items: — Piano duet, Misses Audrey Kuddock and Gwen Woods; song, Miss Betty •Millichamp ; piano solo, Miss Ruddock ; recitation, Miss L. Robinson; dance duo, Misses Bernice Day and Esma Ingrain. After the entertainment, afternoon tea was served.
