AMAZING SCENE
IN COURT OF APPEAL. TOMATOES THROWN AT JUDGES. “I WANT JUSTICE” YELLS SUITOR (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) LONDON, December 2. There was an astounding scene in the Court of Appeal when Frank Harrison, after the rejection of his application for a new County Court trial, returned to the Court when the Judges were departing at luncheon time and shouted, “I want justice,” at the same time throwing several tomatoes at Lord Justices Clauson and Goddard.
The tomatoes missed the Judges and hurst against the woodwork. A spectator seized Harrison’s arm, thus preventing him throwing more. The Judges returned to the Bench. Mr Justice Clanson said: “A’Pe dealt with the application to. the best of our ability.” Harrison was sentenced to six weeks’ imprisonment for contempt of court. Harrison, veiling, “There is no justice loft in England,” was hustled out.
