THE WEEKLY STATEMENT.

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, December 1. A Gazette issued to-night contains the following statement of the assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand as at the close of business on November 28: — LIABILITIES—- £ s. d.

Proportion of reserve to notes and other demand liabilities 32.685 per cent. Sterling exchange is expressed in New Zealand currency.

Tliio general rain throughout the province early in the week will ho of great benefit to the growing crops, more especially to those on medium types of land. The growing conditions are good, and the prospects lor this year are much better than at the same time last year. There is a quiet trading pefl'iojl in the grain market, and quotations one mainly nominal. Linseed and dark Dun oats are in short supply. The potato season has nearly finish-

ed, though merchants are receiving a few odd orders. Quotations are nominal.

Following are quotations to farmers on trucks at country stations, sacks extra unless otherwise stated: — ’Milling Wheat—Tuscan, 5s lid.; Hunters, 6s Id; Pearl, 6s 3d, f.o.b. Fowl Wheat—F.o.b., 5s lOd. Oats—Gartons, to 2s 9d (A grade), 2s 6d to 3s 3d (lower grade); Algerians', 2s 3d to 2s 6d; Duns, 3s to 3s Gd (according to quality). Ryegrass—Perennial, 4s 'to 4s Gd ; Italian, 2s 9d to 3s 3d.

Cocksfoot—7d to 9d. Cowgrass—7d to 9d. White clover—lOd to lid. Chaff—£4 to £4 15s (according to quality). Flour—£l3 15s Gd. in 2001 b sacks.

Bran—£4 15s to £s' 5s (local price), Pollard—£6 5s to £6 1 10s (local price).
