WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.
THE DOR lEi MEETING.
The Doric Women’s Institute met ■ecently. Mr Greig presided.
It was decided not to enter in the drama competitions next April. Mrs Morris was appointed delegate to the achievement day meeting; at Ashburton. The meeting took the form of a kitchen afternoon. Miss McKie was the guest of honour and received many gifts. Tho following competitions were held;—Christinas cake, Mrs Alexander 1, Miss Carruthers 2, Mrs Greig and Mrs D. Harrison (equal) 3; towel, Mrs Morris 1, Miss J. Kingsbury 2, Mrs Alexander 3; salad, Mrs McKie I, Mrs Alexander 2; flowers, Mrs Alexander 1, Mrs 0. Smith 2, Miss Carruthers 3; roses, Miss Carruthers 1, Mrs D. Harrison 2; bloom, Miss ,T. Kingsbury 1, Mrs Morris 2. Mrs McKie 3. The hostesses were the Misses Kingsbury and Mrs Smith.
