The Paris correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” summarises the results of the Anglo-French conversations as follows:

First, an extension of military collaboration.

Second', a continuation of appeasement efforts' without defence necessities.

Third, at present no modification ol the non-intervention policy in Spain, and no granting of belligerent rights, except as part of that plan. Fourth, France approved British plans for Jewish emigration, which were referred to the Winterton committee, to which financial support will be given if necessary for international action.

The “Daily Telegraph” adds that the Far East was considered only very briefly.

AID WANTED IN EMERGENCY

LONDON, Nov. 25

The Paris correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says that M. Daladier is reported to have stressed in his talks with Mr Chamberlain, the necessity for creating as soon as possible, a larger British expeditionary force than the one that went to France in 1914. The French Cabinet is belieVed to he alarmed by the inadequacy of the British contingent which would have landed in France ir war had broken out, in September. M. Daladier emphasised that the disappearance of the Czech army for all practical purposes made increased British effectives imperative. The Paris correspondent of “The Times” says that the British and French Ministers discussed Germany’s colonial claims, but no decisions were reached. The matter was felt to be one not calling for prolonged study. It is announced that Sir Kingsley Wood (Secretary of State for Air) will visit Paris on December 2, to confer with the , French Air Minister on air defence co-operation.

RETURN TO LONDON. (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) LONDON, November 25. Mr Chamberlain and Viscount Halifax have returned to London. The final function in Paris was a dinner given in honour of Mr Chamberlain by the British Ambassador (Sir Eric Phipps) at the British Embassy. The guests included M. Bonnet and M. Daladier.
