SWING TO THE RIGHT.
FRENCH SENATE ELECTION. PARIS, October 26. A swing to the Right is shown in the triennial election for one-third of the French Senate. Ninety-seven Senators are to be elected, and the latest returns show the following state of the parties ■ Republican Democrats, 26 (gained 9). Radical Socialists, 42 (lost 6). Left Republicans, 10 (no change). Independent Radicals, 10 (lost 1). Republican Socialists, 3 (lost 4). Socialists, 4 (gained 1). A complete clarification of French foreign and internal policy is expected after the Radical Party’s conference.
