THE WEATHER.

FINE AND SUNNY WEATHER. Bright sunshine was enjoyed in Ashburton to-day, and although there was a brisk wind from the east, conditions were pleasant and settled. Conditions wore fair yesterday when the maximum temperature was 60.7 degrees. The minimum temperature last night, was 37.6 degrees. The barometer this morning recorded 30.75 inches.

TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. . The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— An intense anti-cyclone is centred just east of the South Island. Pressure i,s low over Tasmania, while a disturbance is apparently developing north of Norfolk Island. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Qamaru is as follows: Light to moderate north-easterly winds. Weather fine. Mild day temperatures, but cool to-night with some frosts. Seas slight, to moderate.
