REFUGEE JEWS.
MIGRANTS TO AUSTRALIA. GERMAN PROPOSAL OPPOSED. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Tlie Jewish Welfare Society is strongly opposed to the proposal that a special steamer with only Jewish migrants should leave Germany for Australia in December. The Society cabled its London office asking that steps be taken to check the proposal. While desirous of helping as many distressed Jews as possible, the Society considers that migrants should be carefully selected, and it would be very difficult to absorb a largo shipload at once.
