ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET. PRICES STEADY TO-DAY. LARGE ENTRY AT DOUBLE SALE

Although there was a heavy yarding of fat sheep at the Ashburton Stock Market to-day, on account oi there being no sale next week, prices were on a par with those realised at Tinwald last week, with a firming tendency. Some good quality lines were offered this morning, and bidding was fairly keen throughout. The top price for wethers was 25s 3d for a pen sold on account of a client, other prices ranging lrom 17s Id to 25s Id. Shorn ewes made up to 21s 7d, while the top price for ewes in wool was gained by A. Johnston (Riverside), who sold a pen of three at 26s Id.
