GLASS BLOWING.

AT ASHBURTON SHOW. A feature of the A. and P. Show next Thursday will be the Glass Blowing Exhibition to be given by the Mender Glass Biowers. Taking the molten glass from the specially constructed furnaces they will make ornamental vases, aeroplanes, babies’ cradles, graceful swans, birds of paradise with flowing tails, and a host of other articles ; a few quick movements with the fingers and a beautiful sailing ship in full sail is the result. These are just a few of the articles that appear in a few moments under the delicate touch of these talented artists, all wonderfully fine both in workmanship- and finish. They will demonstrate what can be done with brittle glass while it is at molten heat, and all creations are made in full view of the audience and as each article is made the manufacture will be fully explained. A lady’s dress and a model of the Sydney Harbour Bridge have just been completed, made of glass. They will be seen in conjunction with the instructive glass blowing demonstration.
