QUESTION OF AFFILIATION (Per Press Association.) CHRIST CHURCH, October 28. AVith 38 votes yet to be counted—and they are the subject of legal argument—supporters of continuance of affiliation of the Canterbury Clerical Workers’ Union with the New Zealand Clerical Employees’ Association have a majority of 17 votes over those case for disaffiliation.

If the proposal to disaffiliate is carried, the Union’s Association with the Federation of Labour will automatically cease. The count of this votes cast in tfte postal ballot was made on Tuesday evening, and a statement on. the position was made this afternoon by Mr G. Gillespie, president of the Union. “All the papers are not counted, and the present state of the ballot is that the majority are in favour of (retaining affiliation by 17,” said Alp' Gillespie. “The present state of voting is: For disaffiliation, 555; against disaffiliation, 572; informal 1.”
