A motion of sympathy with Mrs C. H. Watson, of Methven, in the death of lies’ husband, was carried in. silence the , Mid-Canterbury Federation of Women’s Institutes yesterday.
Mr J. 11. Grigg, Longbeach, judged the light horses, Mr C l . Hale, Ashburton, judged the draught horses, and Mr R. C. Todhunter, Blackford, judged the flock sheep at the Ambeirley show yesterday.
Advice has been received of the appointment of Mr A. G. C. IDeuber as assistant to His Majesty’s Trade Commissioned’ in. New Zealand at Wellington, in succession to Mr T. G. A. Muntz, who left Nlew Zealand, last January. Mr Deuber is expected to arrive in Wellington about the middle of November (says a Press Association telegram).
Mesdames F. Curtis, M. Constable and D. Mcßae will represent the MidCanterbury Federation of Women’s Institutes ati the Voluntary Organisers’ school at Geraldine on December 7.
