LODGE MEETING.
ASHBURTON MANCHESTER UNITY.
The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Ashburton Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F., was held last evening, the N.G. (Bro. D. A. Smith) presiding. It was decided to suggest November 24 as the date of the official visit of the Loyal Pioneer Lodge (Staveley), as the next meeting will lapse as it falls on the late shopping night before the Christchurch Show.
The quinquennial valuation of the district was received from the District Secretarv (Bro. A. C. Hardy) and the M.G., V.G. (Bro. D. A. Bird) and F.S. (P.G.M. Bro. F. Pritchard) were appointed a commitee to draft recommendations to the distinct committee regarding the allocation of the surplus of slightly over £9OOO. Sick pay amounting to £l9 6s 8d was passed in favour of 16 members.
The nomination of officers for the ensuing term was closed. After lodge closed Dr. G. I. Miller gave a most interesting address on his visit to Britain, dealing mainly with the traffic systems of London. He was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
