MUDGWAY RETAINS TITLE. POINTS DECISION OVER CAULTAUX: AUCKLAND, July 18. Neville Mudgway, holder of the New Zealand welter-weight boxing championship, retained his title against Vic. Caultaux in a match at the Town Hall, gaining the decision on points at the end of 15 rounds. The winner’s experience was the deciding factor in a hard-hitting contest. In a preliminary light-weight professional bout between Percy Kelly anti Brian McKay the former won on a points decision. This verdict met with the most hostile demonstration ever seen in Auckland. The crowd hooted and jeered for several minutes. A large majority considered McKay to have won the match,. For the first, time for several years sales of tickets ceased some time before the opening of the programme.
