THE ASHBURTON ASSOCIATION
ONE TEAM TO BE ENTERED IN TOURNAMENT.
'rhe decision to enter one team in the Now Zealand basketball tournament at Timaru at the end of August was reached by the. Ashburton Basketball Association last evening. The president (Mr S. G. Mncfarlane) presided. *
An offer by Mr A. M. Meredith to provide a prize for a. competition to raiae funds for the representative team’s expenses was accepted with tlianks. The question of a. dance for the same purpose was held over. Permission was granted to McKenzies’ team to play a gamfe at Oamaru on July 2. McKenzies’ engagement against the Lauristcn team was postponed to a later date. The president and secretary were given power to attend to the electric lighting over the courts. Matches for Saturday. 2 p.m.—Senior A: Rofceby v. St. Stephen’s, ground I. (Mrs Holland); Convent Old Girls v. Tinwald, ground 11. (Mr Macfarlane); Technical Old Girls v. St u Andrew’s, 111 (Miss Doak). Senior B: "Winchmore v. Technical, ground V. (Miss Eiseley); Rakaia v. St. Stephen’s, VI. (Miss Oolumb). Friendly match —Lauriston v. High School Old Girls, VII. (Mss Meredith). 3 p.m.—Junior A: Technical .v. Hampstead, ground I (Miss Anderson); Convent Old Girls v. Technical Old Girls, ground 11. (Miss Withell); Tmwald v. St. Andrew’s ground 111 (Tech.
