A man describing himself as Frederick Butler, aged 35, who came from Auckland in the Awatea, and who claimed that he had been carried on when saying farewell to a, party on board, was told he would not he allowed to land in Sydney. He was locked in the hospital cabin but escaped by breaking open the door.
