LODGE MEETING.

THE ASHBURTON DRUIDS. The half-yearly meeting of the Star of Ashburton Lodge, U.A.0.D., was held last evening, the A.D, (Bro. P. G. Morrison) presiding over a large attendance. . A motion of sympathy was passed with Bro. E. Par Kin in the loss of his brother. The Bards reported on visits to sick members, and sick pay was passed in favour of 13 brothers. The registrations of two members’ wives were accepted. Bro. R. T. Latimer, D.P. No. 8 District, advised that he would attend on June 13 for the purpose of installing the officers for the current term. An invitation was received from the Success o('_ Ashburton Lodge to attend the installation of officers next Monday. invitations were extended to the Success of Ashburton Lodge to attend the installation of officers on June 13, and the Hakatere Lodge for a card match on June 27. The Grand Secretary forwarded a report from the Government Actuary with reference to the surplus, as disclosed in the 1935 valuation, the Board of Management intimating that it was proposed to increase the funeral benefits, reduce the age for superannuation, and increase the amounts for sickness benefits. The Lodge decided to convey to the Board of Management appreciation of the report and the manner in which it proposed to extend the benefits. A circular was received from the Mid-Canterbury Table Tennis Association, asking for entries for its competition. It was decided to affiliate with the Association and enter two teams.
