THE KING’S ESCAPE
HORSE DASHES IN FRONT OF CAR COLLISION JUST AVERTED. PARTY D-RIVES ON CALMLY. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, May 20. A frightened (police horse charged across the road in front of their Majesties’ car during their visit to Bolton on their Lancashire tour. The chauffeur swerved to the off side and just escaped a collision. The .Queen leaned back startled as the horse dashed past. The incident was over in a few seconds and the party drove on calmly.

The weather was at its brightest for the last day of the four days’ Royal tour of Lancashire. The towns visited this morning were Wigan, Bolton and Tury. In the afternoon ' their Majesties visited Rochdale, Oldham and Ash-ton-under-Lyne. - Great crowds gathered to cheer their Majesties, who were obviously impressed by the warmth of their welcome. At Ashton-under-Lyne station their Majesties took the train for their return to London. —British Official Wireless.
