DARING METHOD

CHRISTCHURCH RAG-SNATCHER.

COLLIDES WITH. CYCLISTS

AN ELDERLY WOMAN’S LOSS

(Per Press Association.)

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day

A hag-snatcher who employs a daring method for his crime, and one which might result in serious injury to the victim, is at work in the city. He rides a bicycle and collides with his intended victim before carrying off the spoils. One adventure involved an elderly woman who suffered the theft of a leather hand-bag containing about £2 in cash and other articles valued at between £4 and £5.

“The incident happened about nine o’clock last night,” the woman told a reporter this morning. “I waft cycling along Dublin Strait when another cyclist suddenly collided with mo without any warning. I fell to the ground with my machine and whilst I was lying on the road helpless my bag was taken away from me.”
