In giving an audience to 60 bishops and 2000 parish priests, who participated in a special harvest campaign, Signor Mussolini, whose bodyguard saluted the clergy with drawn swords and daggers, urged them to to help promote his “More Babies” project. II Duce declared that only big families yielded big battalions, without which victories were impossible.
