EXPORT FAT LAMBS.
MID-CANTERBURY COMPETITION. When entries closed last evening, 82 entries had been received by the secretary of the Ashburton Agricultural and Pastoral Association (Mr W. H. Amos), for the Mid-Canterbury district competition in export fat lambs, Avhich will be held at the Fairfield Freezing Works next Thursday. The NeAV Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has given a perpetual challenge shield for the best individual lots of lambs shipped from the South Island. Some entries have still to be received from outlying districts, and these are expected to be in by Monday. Last year there Avere 175 entries, 153 in 1935, 79 in 1934, and 70 in 1933.
