PIGS AND POULTRY. THE ASHBURTON MARKET. Prices obtained at the weekly sales of pigs and poultry in Ashburton today were:— Pigs—Stores, 28s to 355; weaners and slips, 16s to 26s 6d. Poultry—Hens, Is 7d to 2s lOd; rooster, 2s 6d; hen and chickens, 16s; cockerels, lOd a pair. There was a big yarding and sales were good. HORSE FAIR. PRICES RULING TO-DAY. Prices obtained at to-day’s weekly horse fair were as follow: — Three-year gelding, £32; five-year geldings, £33 10s and £37 ; seven-year gelding, £4l 10s; four-year mares, £36 10s and £42; nine-year mare, £2O; 10-year gelding, £2O; five-year hack, £8 10s.
