SPECIAL TUITION.
ASHBURTON EAST SCHOOL. A special class at the Ashburton East School will he begun in the new year to give backward children an opportunity to make faster progress. An elaborate open-air building facing north will be used to house the children, who will be under a specialist teacher. The headmaster (Mr S. G. Macfarlane) said that the number of the class would be restricted to 20, in order- to give each child as much individual tuition as possible.
