(Received This Day, 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, November 23. ; Following 149 cases of typhoid fever at Croydon, arid five' cases being in one family at North Kensington, the Ministry of Health lias directed an inquiry into the causes, and steps have been taken to cope with it. . ; •--. ’ At Croydon, where the outbreak w r as at first attributed to ..the eating y, of watercress, sales of which at Covent Garden have been instantly brought to a standstill, there have been eight deaths.
