AFTER PRESENT CONSTRUCTION TOTAL OF SEVEN BATTLESHIPS. CRUISERS AND DESTROYERS. (United Press Association —Copyright.) (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 23. According to Dir Hector Bywater, in the “Daily Telegraph,” the German Naval Annual for 1938 reveals that when the present new construction is delivered, Germany will have the following : Two battleships of 35,000 tons, armed with 15-inch guns. Two battleships of 26,000 tons, armed with 11-inch guns. Three 10,000-ton pocket battleships, armed with 11-inch guns. Five 10,000-ton and eight 7000-ten cruisers. Two aircraft-carriers of 20,000 tons. Twenty-two super, and 30 smaller destroyers. Sixty-one submarines. This programme conforms with the 100-35 ratio under the London Naval Treaty. A Berlin cablegram dated Nov. 18 stated: The German Naval Year Book for 1938 reveals that two new 35,000ton battleships are under construction. This is the largest gun ever mounted on a battleship. The German guns at the Battle of Jutland were 12-inch.
