SUCCESS OF ASHBURTON U.A.O.D. The Success of Ashburton. Lodge, U.A.0.D., held its quarterly meeting on Monday evening, Sister A. Hawkes (acting A.D.) presiding. The Bards’ report was received and sick pay passed for payment. Two candidates were initiated, and two propositions were received. It was decided to invite the Star of Ashburton and Lily of Temuka Lodges to the installation on December 6. The election of officers resulted as follows:—J.P.A., Sister F. Collett; A.D., Sister Z. Hawke; V.A., Sister H. Hawke; Sec., Sister It. Crum; Treas., Sister T. Eyles; Min. Sec., Sis. A. Hawkes; A.D.8., Sister Brown; I. Sister D. Davidson; V.A.B’s., Sisters B. Wallis and V. Green; G.L. delegate, Sister' Eyles; Auditor, Bro. Bowman and Sister Wallis; Trustees Sisters Keen and Brown; delegate to United. Friendly Societies’ Association, Bro. C. Ives; U.F.S. Dispensary, Bro. E. Parkin. STAR OF ASHBURTON. The Loyal Orange Lodge, Star of Ashburton, No. 23, met last evening, the W.M., Bro. J. Twamley, presiding. The following* were elected to office for the ensuing term: W.M.-,Bro W. Croy; 1.P.M., Bro. J. Twamley; D.M., Bro. W Thompson (Waterton): chapr lain’, Bro. A. H. Hit-chins; secretary, Bro. W. Dixon; treas., Bro. Wm. Thompson ; ICC. , Bro. „ Mclntyre ; D.C., Bro. E? G. Church; S.D., Bro. W. Hitchins; J.D., Bro. J. Kidd; 1.G., Bro. A. J. Thompson; 0.G., Bro. R. Marsden; auditors, Bros. W. J • Brown and R. S. Harkness; committee, Bros. W. J. Brown, E. G. Church, J. Twamley, R. S. Harkness. . In response to an appeal from the Ashburton Health Camp, Association the sum of one guinea was collected from the brothers. The sponsors of the Staveley Lodge reported that everything was in order for the opening on Saturday evening next.
One candidate was received into the institution.
