Macartney, commenting in the “Sydney Morning Herald,” on the cricket match between New Zealand and New South Wales, says that Cowie is a good bowler, but he cannot go on for ever and must be relieved, and because there is insufficient skill in bowling to support him, New Zealand’s grip on the game was bound gradually to slip away. THE NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. MR WANKLYN NOW CHAIRMAN. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Mr D. E. Wanklyn has been appointed chairman of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council in succession to Mr A. T. Donnelly.
