Freddie the lion is still billed as “the man-eater which made history by causing the death of the former Rector of Stiff key” 'on August 3. A mailed man who entered the cage for a bet during an exhibition at Manchaster was in the cage ten minutes and was just leaving when Freddie, who had been sitting quietly in a corner, sprang and clawed at his arm. The man jumped for the door and escaped.
