DUKE'S LIBEL SUIT.
TO BE MENTIONED IN COURT. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, November 19. The Duke of Windsor’s libel suit against William Heinemann, Ltd., in relation to Mr Geoffrey Dennis’ book, “Coronation Commentary,” will be mentioned in the Chier Justice s Court on Monday.
A London cablegram dated April 22 stated: — The “Daily Mail” says that the Duke of Windsor’s solicitor, Mr A. G Allen, has requested William Heinemann, Ltd., publishers of “Coronation Commentary,” by Mr Geoffrey Dennis (editor and chief of the Documentary Service of the League of Nations Secretariat), to withdraw the hook and publish a suitable apology. The ground of the request is an allegation that the hook libeils the Duke. If it is not complied with a writ for libel may be issued. Mr Dennis was an Oxford undergraduate at the same time as the Duke, and is about to end his career with the League of Nations by representing the Secretary-General at an educational conference in Australia and New Zealand. “Coronation Commentary,” published on April 12, has proved itself a best seller.
