SPORTS ATTRACTIONS.

FIXTURES FOR TO-MORROW. In most cases sports events that were postponed last Saturday on account of rain will he played in Ashburton to-morrow. The Mid-Canterbuiy Sub-Association senior competition will be continued, the draw being: To Marae A v. Ashburton B, at Ashburton; Te Marae B v. Ashburton A, at Te Marae. It is unlikely that the annual representative tennis match between the South Canterbury! Association and MidCanterbury Association which was 'postponed because of wet weather last Saturday, will be played this year, because no dates suitable to both sides are available: The matches in the country section of the junior competition, and the final between Te Marae and Allenton in the town competition, which were postponed from last Saturday, will also be played. The junior challenge shield match between Baring Square (holders) and Baptist is set down for Saturday. The draw for the fourth series of the Ashburton County Cricket Association’s competitions is as follows:—Senior: Ashburton v. Old Boys (Oval), Kia Ora v. Methven (Methven), and Fairfield v. Technical (Technical). Junior: High School v. Coldstream (High School), Technical v. Lauriston (Lauriston), Tinwald v. Public Works (Public Works).

An annual bowling event, which causes great interest is the match between the Ashburton Working Men’s Club and Mutual School of Arts and rinks from the Ashburton and Alienton Clubs. This match will be played on the Ashburton green.
