THE ASHBURTON ASSOCIATION. SENIOR SEVEN-A-SIDE A senior seven-a-side knock-out competition was played by the Ashburton Basketball Association on Saturday, the winners being Tinwald, who defeated Technical Old Girl’s A in the final Details: — First round,—Technical Old Girls A 8. St. Stephen’s 6; Chertsey 7, Rokeby B 3; Tinwald 11, Technical Old Girls’ B 1; Convent Old Girls 10, Rokeby A 8. Semi-final.—Technical Old Girls’ A 12. Chertsey 1; Tinwald 13, Convent Old Girls 6. Final. —Tinwald 6, Technical Old Girls’ A 2. An amusing game, played in old time dresses with old fashioned baskets in place of hoops, caused a great deal of entertainment to both players and onlookers. The game was played by sides representing Ancients and Moderns, and was won by the Ancients by 6 to 4.
