King Edward after cruising >.■ the Bosphorous, paid a surprise visit to Park Hotel, where he dined and stayed till midnight. On his arrival on Friday llie King, accompanied by Kemal Ataturk, drove to the British Embassy through crowded streets, smiling and waving his yachtsman’s cap in response to shouts of “Yasha,” meaning “Long may you live?.” On Friday night from the .leek of the Nahlin, the King witnessed a brl'lir.nt Venetian carnival on the bay. It was everywhere declared that the visit marks the reinforcement of AngloTurkish friendship. Yesterday King Edward 1 visited the mosques of Saint Sophia and Sußan Alnned and bought goods at the Grand Bazaar. He received a gold-bound album of views.
