ASHBURTON LADIES’ ASSOCIATION. MATCH WITH NORTH OTAGO. The Ashburton ladies’ hockey team will play a representative match with North Otago on Saturday at Ashburton. The Ashburton team is:— Goal: K. McKay. Backs: A. Loach, M. Watson. Halves: W. Lowe, D. Fowke, RDonaldson. Forwards :'F. Gudsell, B. Brand, P. Brand, J. Davison, J. Jary. Reserves: J. Lowe, F. Donaldson, E. Anderson, N. Tatterson. Referees: W. Purvis (Oamaru), C. Bishop (Ashburton). The North Otago representatives will be entertained at a dance in the Radiant Hall on Saturday, and opportunity will also be taken to farewell the Ashburton representatives before leaving for Blenheim. His Worship the Mayor will be present on this occasion. The team will leave the Dorothy Tea Rooms at 7 a.m. on Thursday next. The match with the Malvern Association has been postponed, as August 29 is not convenient for Malvern. On September 5 it is hoped Canterbury will send their second team to play at Ashburton. All hockey players are invited to attend a special sports service at Baring Square Church next Sunday evening. THE METHVEN CLUB. In view of approaching six-a-side tournaments, the’ following players of the Methven Ladies’ Hockey Club are asked to attend practice on Saturday: — Senior A—M. Ayers, E. Cleeve, M. Cretney, M.
