The chairman reported that the Grounds Committee had met representatives of the Cpunty Council on the racecourse, .when satisfactory arrangements had been made to replant the north-west shelter belt. The following officials wrote accepting their respective appointments:— Messrs A. It. Allardyce (judge), A. J. Hastings (starter), P. L. Donald (clerk of course), Dr. D. G. Wallace (honorary surgeon), J. P. McLeod (honorary veterinary surgeon), F. B. Eobilliard and R. G. Shearman (timekeepers). In view of the fact that the Australian Performing Rights Association is making claims on racing clubs, it was decided to cut out the usual band programme on race day. It was decided to have a straightout win and place system of betting on the totalisator in lieu of the previous system. In connection with the possibility of injury to horses at the meeting, the committee decided to instruct the veterinary surgeon to take suitable action at"the request of the owner. The secretary was instructed to arrange for the attendance of the County Hospital Ambulance and the services of a St. John Ambulance officer for race day. Mr A. E.
